Curfew for Minors [City Code Section 26]
It shall be unlawful for anyone under the age of 16 years to be in a public
place between the hours of 11 PM-6 AM Sunday through Thursday and 12 Midnight-6
AM Friday and Saturday, unless accompanied by a parent.
Park Closings [City Code Section 64-2]
With the exception of Kurt Beyer Park (Swimming pool park), all parks of the
City of Norwich will be closed to the public between 10:00 PM and 8:00 AM. The
Kurt Beyer Park shall be closed from darkness (sunset) until 8:00AM.
Wheeled vehicles on City sidewalks [City Code Section 23]
No person shall operate or ride upon any public street or upon a sidewalk on
either side of Broad St between Mitchell St/Cortland St south to Front St. and
Hayes St and either side of Main St between Maple St and Hubbard Ave, any skateboard
or any other device rolling on wheels which cannot be guided or steered and
stopped by the operator by means of suitable steering and braking controls.
(This means no riding of skateboard, skates, scooter on sidewalks in the business
district or in ANY street in the City) Wheelchairs are allowed at all times.
Section 525-54. No Parking
No parking on any city street from 12:00 a.m. to 6:00 a.m. effective December 1 to April 1. No parking on any city street outside the effective date and time when 2 inches or more of snow or any ice accumulation is predicted by the Binghamton National Weather Service.
On
a related note, V&T Law Section 375-35(a) reads "No vehicle
shall be equipped with metal studded tires on a public highway during the
period from the first day of May to the fifteenth day of October, inclusive.
